Of course the hood gives it a more casual look, but it also takes a basic top and gives it a modern twist.

Boyfriend Stripe Button-up shirt – This top typifies Splendid’s casual yet statement piece style.  This top features a sheer crinkled cotton fabric blend with a long button-up basic top.  It may sound simple, but the fabric lends itself to a variety of options that you can work with to craft your own individual style.  We love the look of this top unbuttoned and tied around the waist creating a resort look.  Not to mention that you can also dress this top up or down over a tank and wear it to work or out for a night on the town.  At Vintage Fringe, we love the color combination of the blue with black stripes.

Cardigans – Splendid’s great fabrics make their cardigans must haves.  They have managed to take simple designs and make them so distinctive with a few additional finishes.  For example, take their 1×1 8 Button Cardigan.  We love the long length and the fitted waist, but love love love the look of the 8 white buttons and the deep v neck look of this cardigan.  They even did it again with their 1×1 Pocket Cardigan.  With a similar style to the 8 Button Cardigan, the Pocket Cardigan features short sleeves and pockets in front.  We also love the formal yet casual look of their Cotton Stripe Cardigan with a tie at the waist.  With a contrasting stripe in ivory and red this cardigan looks great paired with skirts and boots either open or using the tie around the waist.  Splendid utilizes this same style with more of a sweatshirt type fabric in the amazingly soft French Terry with Lycra Hooded Jacket.  This top is a great piece over your workout clothes or even just with jeans and a t shirt on the weekends.  The fabric is super soft and feels so luxurious on that it is tempting to get one in both colors available at Vintage Fringe.

Boatneck Tops – We have a few favorites here as well.  Splendid has a variety of options for boatneck tops which is of course a classic Splendid style.  The Rayon Slub Jersey Boatneck features a wide boatneck, ¾ length sleeves and a fitted waist. Available in basic black, the rayon slub jersey fabric makes it feel anything but basic.  Similar in style to this boatneck top, is the 4 Band Long Sleeve Boatneck top featuring Splendid’s classic 4 Band stripe pattern in white.  We love this top available at Vintage Fringe in Navy or Mud (light brown) with a lighter weight modal jersey fabric this top is comfortable and still stylish.

I don’t know about the rest of you, but is supposed to hit the 90′s this weekend, so I am still very much into summer clothes. Rumba puff sleeve sweater wrap is probably my favorite design of hers.  This sweater snaps in the front for a completely separate look or it unsnaps to become the adorable wrap that is perfect for fall and early winter.  This sweater is also full of surprising details like the adorable pockets and puff sleeves.  This is also a super soft lightweight knit that can give you warmth but won’t overheat you.
