The sun is shinning and tank tops are out in full force. Unless you have been living under a rock, you probably notices how many a celebrity have been showing some very toned arms lately. Buff or toned arms are the thing right now and to show off all that hard work tank tops are everywhere. First, lets get a little arm inspiration and then I will show you some darling tanks to showcase your own arms! Jessica Biel showing off her fabulous arms.

I am loving the berry color and ruffle detail{which is super hot right now} of this Sweet Pea by Staci Frati 4 Tiered Ruffle Tank. It is a very versatile top, which as you know I am all about anything that goes easily from errand running to date night.

If you are looking for a very casual, very typical California style, check out this Kelisha Long Tank Top by Velvet. Yes, it is very basic, but the extra length makes it perfect with skinny jeans and think of the accessorizing possibilities. Gladiator sandals, and over sized hobo bag and long necklace would be oh so chic!

If ruffles or basic aren’t your thing, go check out Vintage Fringe to see some more cute tank top options. Now go do some push ups and show off those fab arms of yours!

In fashion, color, pattern, and texture are all a part of the current trend and this spring we are seeing more and more pattern. Some big, some small, but pattern and lots of it. There is anything from floral, to the newer watery effect dresses that many celebrities have recently been spotted wearing. If you are someone who sticks to the basic solids, now is the time to dip your toe into the fun world of pattern. Something that is not too scary to try is black and white pattern, I really like the leafy almost damask print of this Belted Ruffle Top from Sweet Peaby Staci Frati. Just having pattern on top draws the eye up to your face and the flattering built in belt really creates or accentuates curves.

If you are feeling a bit more bold, try an all over pattern. This Chapel Dress by Velvet has a gorgeous pattern that isn’t too overwhelming and comes in two different color combinations that are both flattering, either black and white or red and white.

Chapel Dress by Velvet
No matter what your pattern style may be, remember my number one rule: if you aren’t comfortable and confidant in what you are wearing, it won’t look good. So make choices that work for you and not the model in the picture. Now tell me, are you an all over pattern the more the merry type of gal, or a small hits of pattern here and there type of gal?? Me, it depends on my mood!

- Retro Boatneck dress by Sweet Pea
Warmer weather means more light and breezy fashions and what better way to stay cool and stay chic then in a cute little dress. Dresses are so easy to just pull on and go and with so many different styles, there is something that flatters everyone. I also love how dresses can so easily go form day to night with a simple change of accessories, perfect for the over scheduled fashionista on the go! The Retro Boatneck dress by Sweet Pea pictured above is perfect for work or an evening out, and the bright color and pattern perfect for this warmer weather.

Modal Jersey V Neck Dress by Splendid
I love the fit of this Modal Jersey V Neck Dress by Splendid, it is oh so soft and comfy. Anything that feels like I am in my pajamas but I really look chic, I am a fan of! Again this dress’s basic cut makes it an easy option for either day or night. I love how it is styled for day above, but could also see it with high heels and a leather bomber for a summer date night. Also, because it is a solid print, don’t be afraid to layer on the jewelry-necklaces, bracelets, and earrings galore! If these gorgeous gams aren’t quite your style, no worries Vintage Fringe is sure to have something that you’ll love.

I might be jumping the gun a bit to already be blogging about tank tops, but the weather is so beautiful today, I am feeling the need to feature some adorable designer tanks designed by Sweet Pea. Sweet Pea’s vivid patterns are a signature look at any time of the year but especially spring/summer these bold colors will help any gal stand out- in the best kind of way.

Sleeveless Front Tie Top by Sweet Pea
This Sleeveless Front Tie Top is adorable and the cut is really flattering on everyone. I also really love this print- it is a dark navy background. The neck ties make it fully adjustable and allows you to decide how to adjust the neckline. As always this top is in Sweet Pea’s trademark mesh-nylon.
This solid blue 4-Tier Ruffle Tank by Sweet Pea is favorite of mine. While sweet pea mostly designs bold prints, this tank comes in solid blue (rain) or fuschia (cranapple). I love how the 4-tiered ruffles makes this tank simple but trendy and feminine. This tank is a perfect to stand alone piece but also looks great paired with a cardigan (see below).

Laurie ‘B.’s Puffsleeve Cardigan Sweater is one of my must have cardigans. And I love the look of Sweet Pea’s Tank with it. Find great designer tanks from Sweet Pea and other designers at Vintage Fringe!!

Everyone wants to look fashionable, or their best no matter what the climate, and even in a tough economy you can update your look for spring with just a few pieces. This spring, as usual, we are being hit with loads of trends and fads, i suggest picking a few that work for you, your lifestyle, your body type and going with those. The three trends that I am loving are prints and over-sized florals, sleeves, and black and white. First the prints and over-sized florals, what a fun eye-popping trend. Go bold here and remember to not go too over the top, keeping accessories simple can help avoid that. This Sleeveless Front Tie Tank Top by Sweet Pea is perfect for spring and perfect for this trend. Imagine a boyfriend blazer on top of it for the office and then let is stand alone for a night out-love that!

Next is sleeves, most people tend to think that warmer weather means less sleeves, but this year you will find lots of options that offer chic coverage. Sleeves are oh so flattering, especially the flouncy versions found this spring. A great option to try this trend is the Keelin Squareneck Lace Top by Velvet.{bonus, it just happen to be in a print, two trends for the price of one!}

Lastly is the stark contrast of black and white. I love this trend because it is so versatile and easy to incorporate in any wardrobe. Bold color accessories look great with black and white and stripes, patterns, shirts, dresses, sweaters and more can all be done in this trend. I am loving this
Gable Stripe Cardigan by
Laurie B.The bold black an white stripes are right on and the exposed zipper adds a bit of edge, not to mention that the cut is ultra flattering.

Sweet Pea's Sleeveless Front Tie Tank
Life is sweet for Sweet Pea’s designer and brainchild Stacy Frati. This Miami based designer launched her first mesh top over 10 years ago because she felt “there was a void in the market for something very beautiful that could just be a day-into-night style blouse.” Few knew then that Staci’s nylon mesh line she titled “Sweet Pea” would become a landmark of feminine vintage-inspired clothing that could “fly by night”.

It's easy to go from day to night in this short sleeve v-neck by Sweet Pea
At Vintage Fringe we love how Sweet Pea designs can be worn not only in the boardroom with a suit but also on the beach with sandals. Sweet Pea has also crafted its own niche with very feminine and flirty prints and designs that also have that Miami-inspired bohemian vibe as well. The center of Sweet Pea’s trademark look is the nylon mesh fabric that transcends seasons as well as easily slipping from day to night. At Vintage Fringe we love Sweet Pea for it’s bold colors and vibrant prints. Pick your Sweet Pea designs at Vintage Fringe and get in gear for spring.

The number three spring thing to try and love is a caged shoe. We are still seeing straps, straps and more straps on anything from a flat, to wedge, to a heel, to a bootie. Caged shoes instantly add some fringe to your look, and are a quick way to update any outfit. I am a sucker for a metallic shoe, metallic is neutral and goes with everything but has more pizazz then black or brown, love that. Check out these KORS Michael Kors ‘Paris’ Sandal, gorgeous right?? Picture them with a maxi dress, a short dress, boyfriend jeans, skinny jeans, they would look great with everything. If you haven’t tried a caged shoe, spring is the time to do it!

And lastly, the number four spring thing to try and love is….{drum roll please!}… color! Say goodbye to all the black and brown “staples” in your wardrobe and pick up some colorful staples that are sure to make you look younger and more vibrant! The right colors can do wonders for your skin tone and usually make you feel happier, everyone looks good in some shade of pink and blue. So, if you are new to color try one of those. And remember, it doesn’t have to head to toe red, it could just be a scarf, or shoes, or a tank under your jacket or sweater. Speaking of tanks, look are this beautiful, colorful Criss Cross Tank from Sweet Pea.

The empire waist is ultra flattering and the colors are beautiful, but not to too over the top. Pair this with carpi’s, walking shorts, over jeans, or even use it as a swim cover-up this summer. Be bold, be brave, and work these spring things to try and love. You won’t regret it!

Bold shoulders and
sleeves have been all over the runways, magazines, and celebrities this year. And for good reason, the updated version of the 1980′s shoulder pad trend is classy and accentuates{or tricks the eye to see} a small waist, it creates beautiful curves. I love fashion, however it is just not practical for me to wear some of the more extreme sleeve and shoulder styles that celebrities have been spotted wearing{did you see
Rihanna’s or
Fergie’s spiked shoulders?}. So, for those of us with less red carpet events and more grocery carts in our lives, here are some cute ways to incorporate the bold shoulder and sleeve trend into your closet.
I love the vibrant color of this
Scoop Neck top by
Splendid, and the puffy, puckered sleeve really draws attention to the shoulder/sleeve area. There are so many great details in this top, and if you wanted create more curves, I think it would look fabulous belted.

Modal Jersey with Silk Cotton Voile SS Scoop Neck with Buttons by Splendid
The beautiful black and white damask print pattern on this short sleeve Deconstructed V Neck by Sweet Pea really draws the eye up and the double layer sleeve creates a more dramatic and bold shoulder.

Short Sleeve Deconstructed V Neck by Sweet Pea.
Make sure to look for details in your tops, they will always draw the eye to it and if those details happen to fall on the sleeve or shoulder, they will accentuate that area. So what do you think, to spike or not to spike?? {Are Rihanna and Fergie completely mad or completely awesome??} Tell me what you think!

Navigating the maze of accessories can be tough, here are a few no-fail tricks that work to jazz up any outfit. One of my favorite things to do{and celebrities rock this all the time} is to add a pop of
color somewhere to an outfit. It could be a handbag, a necklace, a shoe, anything really. Here is a great example of a simple jeans and top {a fabulous top at that, its
Sweet Peaby Staci Frati
Ruffle Sleeve Bib Top} with a pop of color in the shoe. The bright purple is fun and unexpected-love this look!

Sweet Pea by Staci Fragti top and a pop of color in the heels.
Another hot accessory trend is an over-sized clutch. What girl doesn’t love an over-sized bag?? This look is so functional and fashionable, love that combo don’t you?? This look clearly has a pop of color in the pants, and a busy print in the
Keelin Squareneck Lace Top by
Velvet so the neutral black and brown accessories are spot on. Notice how the clutch is black and the bangles are brown, don’t be afraid to mix!

Over-sized clutch with bangles in neutrals.
And lastly, something that I like to call the three B’s: Boots, belt and bangles. Boots have been major for the past several seasons and there are no signs of that slowing down. They can instantly add some rock-n-roll, retro, classy, or cowboy to your look. Belts are are great way to create a waist, and can even work great to camouflage a waist when wore when a blousy top. Bangles are so easy to throw on and it seems that ‘the more the merrier’ trend with them is still going strong. So don’t be afraid to stack them up! I love how all three of these accessories jazz up this simple{yet beautiful} black tunic dress by Ella Moss. Again notice the pewter on the belt and the gold bangles, mixing these is ok and looks chic, don’t be afraid to try it!

There are some of my no-fail tricks for accessories, now tell me some of yours! What are your go-to looks for accessories??

While Red Carpet fashion isn’t something I wear on a daily basis…I do try to see what celebrities pick to wear and glean some fashion trends from them. This year the fashion magazines and I agree the major trend was ruffles. Romantic Ruffles were everywhere on the red carpets of the Golden Globes and the Screen Actors Guild Awards. Below are my favorite best dressed celebrities and my own everyday translation to their style.
First the Golden Globes and the beautiful and every elegant Diane Kruger in a ruffled Pink gown by Christian Lacroix.

Diane Kruger looking pretty in pink at the Golden Globes
I first started noticing Diane Kruger when she played the face who launched a thousand ships as Helen in Troy. Since then she has proven she has impeccable taste, especially on the red carpet. I love this vibrant pink color which will no doubt be perfect for fall. My everyday translation of this style and dress is this 4 Tiered Ruffle Tank by Sweet Pea.

Sweet Pea by Stacy Frati 4 Tiered Ruffled Tank
Sweet Pea’s signature lightweight and flowing fabric in this fuchsia color is a perfect everyday version of Diane’s red carpet look. This ruffled tank can easily be dressed up or down and will make everyone look glamorous and trendy for spring.
My other favorite red carpet look was Glee’s very own Lea Michele and her green goddess dress designed by Catherine Malandrino

- Lea Michele at the Screen Actors Guild Awards
This plunging ruffled v-neck gown was gorgeous and oh so daring. My interpretation or should I say translation of this red carpet look is the Aggie V-Neck Ruffle Dress in chive by Ella Moss.

- Ella Moss Aggie V Neck Ruffle Dress
You can always count on Ella Moss to design fun and flirty designer dresses for spring. While the v-neck is not as plunging as Lea’s red carpet gown that is probably a good thing. This shorter striped dress has a wonderfully flattering empire waist and slanted stripe detail that is oh so flattering. Win your own best dressed awards with these styles and more available at VintageFringe.
