Trendy Tanks from Sweet Pea by Staci Frati

Wednesday, April 7th, 2010

I might be jumping the gun a bit to already be blogging about tank tops, but the weather is so beautiful today, I am feeling the need to feature some adorable designer tanks designed by Sweet Pea.  Sweet Pea’s vivid patterns are a signature look at any time of the year but especially spring/summer these bold colors will help any gal stand out- in the best kind of way.

Sleeveless Front Tie Top by Sweet Pea

This Sleeveless Front Tie Top is adorable and the cut is really flattering on everyone.  I also really love this print- it is a dark navy background.  The neck ties make it fully adjustable and allows you to decide how to adjust the neckline.  As always this top is in Sweet Pea’s trademark mesh-nylon.

This solid blue 4-Tier  Ruffle Tank by Sweet Pea is favorite of mine.  While sweet pea mostly designs bold prints, this tank comes in solid blue (rain) or fuschia (cranapple).  I love how the 4-tiered ruffles makes this tank simple but trendy and feminine.  This tank is a perfect to stand alone piece but also looks great paired with a cardigan (see below).

Craving Cardigans

Friday, April 2nd, 2010

This is about the time of year when I dump my coat and jacket and start wearing the cardigan.  A cardigan is a versatile addition to your fashion wardrobe.  A cardigan can be worn with jeans, pants, skirts, dresses or almost any garment.  Designer Cardigans will be a great addition to your wardrobe for both the cardigan’s versatility and those added designer details that make your clothes stand apart from your friend’s clothes.  Below are some of  my favorite cardigans for spring.

Easter Dresses are at Vintage Fringe

Wednesday, March 24th, 2010

Easter dresses were as much a tradition in my family as decorating Easter eggs.  Now that I am older- the egg hunts may be over for me but I still love finding that perfect Easter dress to wear to church on Easter Sunday.  In my opinion there are some key elements to any Easter dress you wear.  First the color of your dress must be bright, and second your dress has to scream spring.  Below are some of my picks for the perfect Easter dress.

Splendid Modal Jersey V Neck Dress

I love this V Neck Dress from Splendid in the color blueberry (purple) for an Easter dress.   I love love love this modal jersey fabric this dress is made from because it is machine washable, ultra soft, and extremely flattering.  Also check out the empire waiste, v-neck detail and those cute short sleeves.

Ella Moss Dita V Neck Ruffle Dress

This V Neck Ruffle Dress is a perfect choice for Easter.  This dress is all about the tiny details like the ruffled neckline and ruching on the empire waist line which takes this classically constructed dress into a whole new level of design.  This dress will be a favorite of yours for years to come.   I should also mention that Ella Moss designs this dress in shadow (purple pictured about) and pond (green).

All About Head Gear

Friday, March 19th, 2010

No, I don’t mean the 1980′s kind that you wore with your braces at night, I am talking about the hot, hot, trend of headbands! Headbands are everywhere right now, Gossip Girl is obsessed with them, designers are pairing them with their runway looks, and every store from Target to Saks carries them. So, if you haven’t tried them yet, now is the time! They are so chic and simple to add to just about any outfit. {not to mention they make ponytail days look instantly glam!} With bows, feathers, flowers, rhinestones and more there is sure to be something that fits with everyone’s style and the best part is that no matter if you have short, long, or even no hair, a headband is going to look cute! Here are several different headbands to get you started with rocking this look. First, is this super cute striped bow, it is girly, but not too much with a men’s wear inspired print. Don’t be afraid to rock these stripes with a patterned shirt, mixing prints is very in right now. I won’t tell you the insane price of this little number, but it is very affordable so no worries if you only use it every so often.

Secondly, is this sweet little Rose Buddy headband. I love the look of the rose buds, they are small enough to not make a massive statement, but big enough to notice and add some fringe to your outfit of chouice. This lovely band comes in an array of colors, making it easy to choose one that suites you!

Ok, so I wanted to share one of my favorite feather headbands next, but I just couldn’t pass up sharing this gorgeous Camryn band. I just love the bright color and detail on this one. Imagine it with a coral colored top and white jeans for summer, so cute! True Birds has loads of cute head gear, they would be a good place to start if you are new to this trend.

Now go out there and rock this look! Be confidant, you will look amazing, trust me. And if you are looking for some fashion to match, check out Vintage Fringe for all your clothing needs! {or wants, or desires}

Spotlight on Ella Moss designer tops

Monday, March 15th, 2010
Ella Moss clothes can be described as hip, quirky and fashionable.  But my favorite thing about this clothing line is that the pieces are so comfortable! They are as stylish as ever, yet feel like you are wearing your favorite old t-shirt.  I also appreciate how versatile these clothes are, they can easily go from day to night depending on what you pair them with. Here are a few of my favorite pieces, starting with this ultra flattering Costa Puffsleeve V Neck. The draping at the bust line looks elegant and stylish, this would be great with white jeans and embellished flats for summer.

Right on target with the nautical trend, Ella Moss’s Melbourne line is chic, comfortable and features wide stripes in a variety of colors. I particularly like the Melbourne Puffsleeve Front Tie Top, the oatmeal color is great and the v neck in front and back add great detail to this slouchy top. It could be paired nicely with just about any color and dressed up with dark denim and heels or dressed down with cute cut offs and sandals.

The last Ella Moss top I want to highlight is this light and breezy Jocelyn Puffsleeve Boatneck Top. I love the bright color {this beauty is also available in Lemonade aka yellow, which is fab!} and the gathered cuff, collar, and hem which make this shirt all the more flattering and forgiving for those of us without the picture perfect body shape.  This shirt could easily do double duty this summer as a swim cover up, and because of the fun print you don’t need loads of accessories. {Although I have always been one to do a bit more rather then a bit less when it comes to accessories!}

Thursday, March 11th, 2010

Whoever thought sweaters were out for spring was certainly wrong!!!  Short sleeved sweaters are a perfect must have for this time of year.  Especially on those days that seem to be warm, but could easily turn cooler.  This time of year I find is perfect for short sleeved knitwear.

Laurie ‘B.’s Puffsleeve Cardigan Sweater is one of my must have cardigans.  I love how this cardigan sweater snaps closed for one kind of look, but can also be worn unsnapped as a cardigan.  The puff sleeves and pocket detail sets this cardigan sweater apart from any of your friends clothing.  Available in Grey or Black this sweater is perfect for layering this spring.

Beat the winter blues with glowy skin

Friday, February 12th, 2010
Even if you aren’t vacationing in Barbados this winter, get radiant skin with these few tricks to look like you are. Cold weather not only changes what we wear, but it should change how we treat our skin. First off make sure you are taking care of you skin with a basic regimen, a good cleanser, daily SPF moisturizer{you want that face in 10 years don’t you??}, serum, night cream, and eye cream. There are too many options for too many different types of skin for me to go into that more, just do the best you can with the best products you can afford. Check out these gorgeous gals with glowy skin found here.
girls with "i just slept 8 hours and have a stress-free life" skin {don't worry you can fake it!}

girls with "i just slept 8 hours and have a stress-free life" skin {don't worry you can fake it!}

Next step to faking a “sun-kissed” glow is applying an all over luminizer, like this one from NARS. Sephora says this about The Orgasm illuminator “a complexion enhancer that makes skin look instantly refreshed, radiant, and glowing.” What I especially love about this product is the word “instantly” and it is true, just sweep this over your skin and poof, instantly better! Almost every make up line will carry some form of bronzer, illuminator, tinted moisturizer, or blush that can help you achieve glowy skin. Experiment with brands you like and look for nude colors with shimmer or peachy tones which are the most universally flattering.

Lastly, remember that the best things for your skincare are free like sleeping a decent amount each night, drinking lots of water, avoiding stress, and exercising! Now go out there are show the world your winter glow! What are your favorite products/rituals for winter skin care?
Here is some glow inspiration, Katie Cassidy looking healthy and dewy. Also, don’t forget to pick up some cute clothes to go with that glowy skin of yours at Vintage Fringe!

Trend Alert: Long Dresses are Back!!!

Thursday, February 4th, 2010
Kate Hudson, Kristen Bell, and Carrie Underwood looking sexy in thier summer dresses

Kate Hudson, Kristen Bell, and Carrie Underwood looking sexy in their summer dresses

Maxi dresses and other long flowing dresses are going to be back in a big way for spring and summer this year, and we all should be glad they are.  Maxi dresses are comfortable and flattering, allowing you to look sexy and feminine without sucking it in or living in fear afraid of accidentally showing  your underwear.  While the perfect summer dress should be long (I recommend that the maxi dress should hit just at or a smidge below your ankle) and flowing it is also important to pick a dress that looks casual enough that you don’t look like you are prepping for prom in the middle of the afternoon.  Below are some of my favorite long dresses.

Hollie Racerback Maxi Dress by Ella Moss

Hollie Racerback Maxi Dress by Ella Moss

This adorable maxi dress designed by Ella Moss encompasses everything I love about this trend.  The Hollie Racerback Maxi Dress is made of ultra soft and ultra comfortable supima cotton.  I also love the detail around the neck. This dress with a perfectly designed empire waist manages to be flattering as well as flowing which will be the perfect look this spring and summer.

If you are looking for a little more color I  love the Odessa V Neck Maxi Dress also designed by Ella Moss.

Ella Moss Odessa V-Neck Maxi Dress

One reason I would steer readers looking for the perfect maxi dress towards Ella Moss is the great fabric choices for these dresses.   This super soft v-neck  dress is something I can see myself wearing everyday this summer.  I also love how the large v-neck allows for some adorable accessorizing.  This blue color is called waterfall and will surely make a pop in your wardrobe this summer.
