Ella Moss Dresses are one of the signature components of the Ella Moss brand. By way of background, the Ella Moss line was started by Protzel Scott who originally studied graphic design when she realized that fashion was her true passion. After attending the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising she was hired to work for Moise Emquies the founder of Mo Industries. The pair partnered together to create Ella Moss taken from Pamella’s nickname (Ella) and Moise’s nickname (Moss). In their own words, they describe the Ella Moss line as follows: “Hip, quirky, fashionable”. Protzel explained that her main inspiration for design was art, fashion, people, travelling, and Parisian flea markets. She describes the collection as “flowy femininity with the comfort level of a t-shirt.”
Dresses are always so hard to find and yet so popular. When shopping for dresses we always find that it is a perpetual quest to find something unique or that perfect combination of feminine and modern or vintage. Some of our favorite dresses are made by designer Ella Moss. Known for their use of great fabrics and modern, vintage style designs, Ella Moss is a great designer of dresses. With a range of dresses that work for a variety of occasions, Ella Moss dresses truly do work for all occasions.
For a dressy occasion, we adore the Ella Moss Abigail Ruffle Front V Neck Dress. Perfect for a cocktail party or a night out, this black dress is absolutely stunning. We love the classic Ella Moss ruffle v neck which is really part of so many Ella Moss dresses. The dress also features a tie belt at the waist to give the dress a fitted look. Made with a luxurious silk fabric this dress is the perfect combination of elegant and edgy.
Another great dress by Ella Moss is the Blaire Widesleeve Crew dress. This dress is truly one of our favorites. We love the contrasting colors and details on this dress. With an empire waist and a keyhole button in front, this dress exudes feminine touches. The dress also features shoulder pleats and a flared skirt that is longer in the center and tapers up on the sides with a contrasting stripe at the hem. Available in Navy and White or Yellow and Grey this dress is always an excellent statement piece and a perfect combination of vintage style with a modern edge.
We also love the maxi dresses by Ella Moss. The Odessa V Neck Maxi Dress feels so luxurious and regal when you wear it. The Waterfall blue color is fabulous and the empire waist with the short sleeves gives the dress an elegant feminine touch. Another maxi dress by Ella Moss is the Hollie Racerback Maxi Dress in black. The racerback lace detail around the shoulders gives the dress a distinctive, feminine look. These maxi dresses are perfect for dressy occasion, that perfect warm day or your amazing Carribean vacation.
True to the purpose of the Ella Moss brand to provide “flowy femininity with the comfort level of a t-shirt,” all of these dresses exude femininity and yet are so comfortable.
Easter dresses were as much a tradition in my family as decorating Easter eggs. Now that I am older- the egg hunts may be over for me but I still love finding that perfect Easter dress to wear to church on Easter Sunday. In my opinion there are some key elements to any Easter dress you wear. First the color of your dress must be bright, and second your dress has to scream spring. Below are some of my picks for the perfect Easter dress.
Splendid Modal Jersey V Neck Dress
I love this V Neck Dress from Splendid in the color blueberry (purple) for an Easter dress. I love love love this modal jersey fabric this dress is made from because it is machine washable, ultra soft, and extremely flattering. Also check out the empire waiste, v-neck detail and those cute short sleeves.
Ella Moss Dita V Neck Ruffle Dress
This V Neck Ruffle Dress is a perfect choice for Easter. This dress is all about the tiny details like the ruffled neckline and ruching on the empire waist line which takes this classically constructed dress into a whole new level of design. Kate Hudson, Kristen Bell, and Carrie Underwood looking sexy in their summer dresses
Maxi dresses and other long flowing dresses are going to be back in a big way for spring and summer this year, and we all should be glad they are. Maxi dresses are comfortable and flattering, allowing you to look sexy and feminine without sucking it in or living in fear afraid of accidentally showing your underwear. While the perfect summer dress should be long (I recommend that the maxi dress should hit just at or a smidge below your ankle) and flowing it is also important to pick a dress that looks casual enough that you don’t look like you are prepping for prom in the middle of the afternoon. Below are some of my favorite long dresses.
Hollie Racerback Maxi Dress by Ella Moss
This adorable maxi dress designed by Ella Moss encompasses everything I love about this trend. The Hollie Racerback Maxi Dress is made of ultra soft and ultra comfortable supima cotton. I also love the detail around the neck. This dress with a perfectly designed empire waist manages to be flattering as well as flowing which will be the perfect look this spring and summer.
If you are looking for a little more color I love the Odessa V Neck Maxi Dress also designed by Ella Moss.
Ella Moss Odessa V-Neck Maxi Dress
One reason I would steer readers looking for the perfect maxi dress towards Ella Moss is the great fabric choices for these dresses. This super soft v-neck dress is something I can see myself wearing everyday this summer. I also love how the large v-neck allows for some adorable accessorizing. This blue color is called waterfall and will surely make a pop in your wardrobe this summer.

While Red Carpet fashion isn’t something I wear on a daily basis…I do try to see what celebrities pick to wear and glean some fashion trends from them. This year the fashion magazines and I agree the major trend was ruffles. Romantic Ruffles were everywhere on the red carpets of the Golden Globes and the Screen Actors Guild Awards. Below are my favorite best dressed celebrities and my own everyday translation to their style.
First the Golden Globes and the beautiful and every elegant Diane Kruger in a ruffled Pink gown by Christian Lacroix.
Diane Kruger looking pretty in pink at the Golden Globes
I first started noticing Diane Kruger when she played the face who launched a thousand ships as Helen in Troy. Since then she has proven she has impeccable taste, especially on the red carpet. I love this vibrant pink color which will no doubt be perfect for fall. My everyday translation of this style and dress is this 4 Tiered Ruffle Tank by Sweet Pea.
Sweet Pea by Stacy Frati 4 Tiered Ruffled Tank
Sweet Pea’s signature lightweight and flowing fabric in this fuchsia color is a perfect everyday version of Diane’s red carpet look. This ruffled tank can easily be dressed up or down and will make everyone look glamorous and trendy for spring.
My other favorite red carpet look was Glee’s very own Lea Michele and her green goddess dress designed by Catherine Malandrino
- Lea Michele at the Screen Actors Guild Awards
This plunging ruffled v-neck gown was gorgeous and oh so daring. My interpretation or should I say translation of this red carpet look is the Aggie V-Neck Ruffle Dress in chive by Ella Moss.

You can always count on Ella Moss to design fun and flirty designer dresses for spring. While the v-neck is not as plunging as Lea’s red carpet gown that is probably a good thing. This shorter striped dress has a wonderfully flattering empire waist and slanted stripe detail that is oh so flattering. This “little black dress” by Ella Moss is extremely versatile. The length of the dress falls just above the knee so it’s elegant enough for the day and flirty enough for the night. Ella Moss Abigail Ruffle Dress
We love Ella Moss and especially their designer dresses! They perpetually embody such great feminine style and are always fashion forward. This season one of the pervasive fashion trends has been the resurgence of purple and different variations of the color.
Ella Moss Kiki Front Tie Dress
Ella Moss’ Kiki Front Tie Dress is a great example of this feminine style and absolutely beautiful in the Slate (Smokey Purple) color. This elegant dress made of lace complete with lace straps and gathered lace around the v neck. We also love the subtle ruffle at the bottom of the dress.
Ella Moss left no detail uncovered and includes a silk tie bow in the front in a matching Slate color too. We love the Slate color! It is such a great way to wear this season’s popular purple color as it isn’t that old Jack Nicholson “Joker” purple. It isn’t over the top like that shade of purple. Yet it isn’t as muted as your basic grey either. Completely stunning and completely distinctive, which is classic Ella Moss!
