Hot Pink Tops can come in a number of great styles. We love the hot pink color because it is pretty much automatically a statement piece with a vibrant, bold color that looks great with just about any skin tone. Plus how can you go wrong with pink the ultimate feminine color. Consider a few great options for hot pink tops currently available at Vintage Fringe.
If you are looking for solid pink, then consider tops like the Alejandra Knot Top by designer Ella Moss. This top features a gorgeous pink in a great feminine style. This top features a v neckline with a knot at the center for added detail. The top also features pleats around the collar along with the empire waist and pleats in the back of this top. The sleeves are also gathered at the cuffs giving it a fuller looking sleeve. This top is a great fluid piece that is flattering and feminine and of course features a vibrant pink color.
Alternatively, consider the perfect beach vacation top the Cotton Gauze Scoop Neck with Tie Top. This top by Splendid makes us feel like we are on vacation in the Caribbean! It is loose fitting at the waist and also has a loose scoop neck around the collar with a drawstring tie around it. For detail the top also features 6 white buttons as in the front so you can wear the top buttoned up or not. The sleeves are also gathered and feature elastic at the cuffs. It is light weight and looks great over a tank top or bikini top in summer weather. Of course is also comes in Strawberry a bright pink color.
Finally, if you don’t want a solid pink top, you can find great patterned tops by designer Sweet Pea by Stacy Frati as an example that weave in hot pink colors into their tops. You may like the look of the Bell Sleeve Top by Sweet Pea which features a black and hot pink scroll pattern with a vivid solid pink detail around the neckline. This top features flared sleeves which give rise to the Bell Sleeve name and a gorgeous neckline and pattern which makes this top a great statement piece. There is also the Classic Surplice Short Sleeve V Neck top which features a beautiful floral pattern with lots of hot pink, browns and hints of purple and yellows. This bold pattern accents a fitted top that is gathered at the waist and features a solid brown lining underneath.
As you can see, there are a number of ways to wear hot pink tops and a number of different styles and patterns to find them in. Hot pink is a great color particularly in summer months when patterns and colors tend to be a bit brighter and bolder than other times of year. You can also see that great designers have included other feminine details and accents so the best part of your top isn’t just the great color.
If you are looking for ways to insert bold statement pieces into your wardrobe, one of the latest fashion trends of inserting colorblocking into dresses and shirts is something you should at least consider. Colorblocking is simply the term referring to stark contrasts of color inserted into a piece of clothing. Now that we are headed into spring and summer clothing, it really is the perfect time to spice up your wardrobe with brighter colors for contrast in your clothing.
Designer Ella Moss created one of our favorite dresses the Blaire Widesleeve Crew dress which is a great subtle way to incorporate colorblocking into your wardrobe. We love the contrasting colors and details on this dress. Obviously the dress showcases a contrasting colorblock to accent the empire waistline. For added detail, the dress features keyhole button in front. The dress also features shoulder pleats and a flared skirt that is longer in the center and tapers up on the sides with a contrasting stripe at the hem. Available in Navy and White or Yellow and Grey this dress is always an excellent statement piece and a perfect combination of colorblocking for contrast and vintage style with a modern edge.
Another one of our favorite lines that incorporate a variety of patterns and bold colors in elegant, feminine ways is Sweet Pea by Stacy Frati. She uses lots of bold, bright patterns and offsets or complements them with accenting solid colors for trim or lining underneath. Consider the Tie Short Dress by Sweet Pea. This dress features a bold fuscia pink and brown floral pattern. For contrast, she uses solid brown for the ties at the waist and in the bodice and around the neckline. The effect of incorporating the colorblocking here for contrast is that it helps to add a bit of simplicity to the bold pattern which helps create a more elegant, feminine look.
The use of colorblocks, if done properly, can actually help to make your dress more slimming and can break up a monotonous drab dress or top with a pop of color. Particularly in the summer season, bold colors are a fashion trend this season and colorblocking is a great way to invoke a retro 1960s look into classic pieces. This season bold colors like corals and purples will be very popular and both colors are great accent colors for added contrast.
Finding statement pieces with colorblocking is not for everyone and of course depends on your own personal style preferences, but colorblocking is a great vintage trend that is becoming more in style and of course is a distinctive way to include retro style elements and added pops of color to help create a fabulous fashion statement. Depending on our tolerance and confidence in wearing bold pieces, if you are interested in including such bolder fashion trends into your closet look for ways to gradually ease yourself into the trend with subtle pieces that you can work into your closet over time.
I love white blouses and tops. So much so that my sister even makes fun of me because of the number of white tops I have in my closet. In my mind, few things are better than a white top that is so versatile it really can go with just about anything and I love the look with my skintone. Luckily for me, this season the white top is even more en vogue and is really a must have in your closet.
The white top is an essential staple in your closet because they really can be timeless pieces that work seamlessly in your wardrobe from season to season. They can be worn underneath cardigans or wraps or as standalone statement pieces in your closet. Consider a few of my favorite white blouses in different styles that will give you a variety of alternatives for your wardrobe and your individual style.
First, check out the Darvey top by Velvet a great long tunic length top in baby jersey cotton, this top in white features long buttons down the center of the top. A great top to wear over a Kelisha long tank by Velvet for added contrast and even works great over leggings. This top is distinctive and a perfect blend of casual and yet classy. As we mentioned it is available in white, but also brown and green.
Next up consider the Pintuck Empire top by designer Zooey by Alice Heller. This great top features contrasting textures of shirting cotton or cotton voile and jersey cotton. With an empire waist for added feminine touches, this top features buttons in front as an added detail element. The top features the cotton voile for accents around the base of the sleeves and around the neckline. The sleeves have a slight flare to them and the waist is slightly flared giving this top a fluid bohemian style look. It is a great casual piece that can also be dressed up when necessary.
Finally, consider the Bermuda V Neck Stripe Top by designer Ella Moss as a great top with a hint of color. This top features yet another style with a fitted waistband and a v neck with contrasting stripes in smokey purple, orange and yellow colors. The v neck features a knot at the center giving it a gathered look in front for added distinction. This top is a rayon blend so it is ultra soft and comfortable to wear. It is a great way to mix in a touch of color with the basic white top.
All of these tops are great white staple tops, but each of them has their own bit of flare or fringe to make them each distinctive and depending on your individual style these examples are great ways to incorporate that basic white top or blouse into your closet. In my opinion you really can’t have enough white tops in your closet and I would be the first to admit that there is nothing wrong with having a number of go to white tops in your closet.
Peasant tops are a big trend this season and we love the fact that they really do represent a great way to include vintage touches into your closet. Vintage style peasant tops can include the vintage style elements with the patterns or even vintage elements like smocking or ruffles that have been making a comeback in different style tops. To begin, peasant tops typically are made from cotton shirting fabrics such as cotton voile and often feature a loose fluid fit and are frequently accented with anything including embroidery, ruffles, ties, or even smocking or ruching.
You will want to find whatever style of peasant tops that work best with your style and body type, but at Vintage Fringe our theme for shopping is to find ways to incorporate and blend the vintage with the modern when shopping for anything vintage style. Of course we typically shop for new clothing which is what we carry at our site and that is often the easiest vintage style clothing to find when shopping online, but if you are looking for true vintage peasant tops you can certainly find lots of vintage elements in such pieces.
One reason why we love the look of peasant tops right now is that they fit in so well with the great look of tunic length tops and leggings. Finding tunic length peasant tops is really not that difficult and we love the look of the Keelin Squareneck Lace top by designer Velvet by Graham and Spencer. This longer length top features a loose fit and a retro square neckline accented with lace trim. We love the puff sleeves and the gathered elastic near the hem for added flare. This top is long enough that it would pair perfectly with leggings or with a cute pencil skirt for spring and summer.
Another great peasant top style is the Celestine Boatneck top by designer Ella Moss. This loose fitting top is sheer and looks great over tank tops for added accent. With a ruffle around the neckline and elastic at the base of the sleeves, this top is super feminine and still has that vintage style to it. The Celestine Boatneck also features a tie around the neckline that can be tied or worn loose depending on your personal preference. The fabric also features a contrasting star pattern for added detail. This top is available in both a Pink and a Green color which also bring some great vivid vintage style into play.
As you can see, peasant tops really do come in a variety of styles and there is not really a concrete one peasant style. We love the look of the looser fit over a tighter fitting tank or leggings for added contrast to your outfit. Best of all, the peasant top really is a distinctive way to incorporate your own style into your wardrobe as there really isn’t a cookie cutter peasant top style. They also typically are so feminine that they are great statement pieces for both casual and special occasions so in the current economy they are a great piece to include knowing that you won’t feel guilty because this top will last you for many seasons to come.
As the weather is warming up, finding great lace tops for spring is a great way to dress up your closet this season. We love finding ways to incorporate lace from tops that are all lace to tops that use lace detail as trim or accents. Here are a few of our favorites:
For a completely lace look consider the Lace Tank with a Pocket by designer Collective Concepts. This designer tank top is reasonably priced at $55 and features a racerback and a pocket in front. It is a sheer lace and is unlined so you will likely want to layer it over another tank, but we love the options to add a pop of color under the lace. Available in black with black trim, this tank top is super versatile and can easily be dressed up or down depending on the occasion.
If you are looking for great tops that are accented with lace detail consider the Hollie Crew Top. This top is a perfect spring top with the Bee yellow color and of course we love the lace detail around the neckline. The Hollie Crew Top is a great short sleeve spring top with lace accents which really make this top distinctive. This top by designer Ella Moss is part of the Hollie Collection which also features similar lace detail around the neckline of the Hollie Racerback Maxi Dress. These lace accents are elegant ways to really add some added style to both the dress and the top.
We also love the Lace Trim Stripe tank by Collective Concepts as another top with lace detail. Here the detail is also around the neckline and then wide contrasting stripes in either navy or red. This tank is also a racerback and with a looser flared fit, this tank is a great spring / summer tank top that we love to wear. Priced at $58 the Lace Trim Stripe Tank top is a great value for a designer tank top. It is extremely comfortable and a great summer statement piece.
As you can see from these examples, there are a variety of great tops with lace accents or even solid lace depending on the style or look you are going for. This season we are big fans of incorporating contrasting textures and accents on tops or dresses as ways to really add a pop of detail or “fringe” to basic or simple styles. In the current economy, this is a great way to make sure your pieces last you far longer than one season and can help justify a higher price for the higher quality piece that is a great statement piece for your wardrobe. In addition, there is nothing worse than snagging your lace top so having lace accents can help to increase the longevity of your top. There are lots of different lace alternatives out there and lace is a great feminine fabric which really does make a statement in whatever style piece you choose.
If you are looking for great ways to include bold details into your wardrobe you will likely see lots of sparkle. Whether it be sequins which are so popular this season or other trends like metallic stripes or fabrics, you will see a variety of great styles that feature bold accents to help make that statement piece. One possible accent that we have grown to love which is becoming a bit more prevalent in the latest styles and fashions are bold accents such as zippers or even studded with metal grommets or other elements on the piece. While it may sound unconventional, you have most likely seen some of it on certain designer fashions and can be a creative and stylish way to add to the distinctiveness of the piece.
Consider a well known designer, Ella Moss that incorporates studded grommets into the neckline and sleeves of its Sonia Ruffle Sleeve Studded Short Sleeve Top. This modern styled top features a series of accenting metal grommets around the sleeves and prominently in the back of the top. A great style of top with a fitted waistband the style of the top on its own is worth considering, but with the added studded grommet detail it makes it even more unique and it really does turn an otherwise elegant but simple top into a statement piece. To utilize the studded trend, you don’t necessarily need to have metal grommets, but instead it could be accented with other pieces that will similarly elevate it into a great statement piece.
Another way to make a statement is accents such as zippers. We absolutely adore the Burca Scoopneck Dress by Velvet by Graham and Spencer that features a wide zipper that is prominently displayed in the back of this dress. The zipper is a great way to add some shine and also give the piece an edgier feel. Consider also the Aspen Motorcycle Sweater also by Velvet as another example of a great use of zippers to really elevate a piece from ordinary to extraordinary with a few simple touches such as zippers and metal grommets. Zippers are actually becoming more and more popular this season, but yet thankfully are not overdone which makes them still a great statement detail.
Overall, when you are looking for creative ways to incorporate additional style into your wardrobe consider adding subtle statements such as the zippers and studded elements rather than going too far. It is possible to ruin the statement of such pieces with too much detail or too much distraction. We suggest that you judiciously find statement pieces for your wardrobe that include subtle touches that are not so subtle to get lost. No matter what we suggest, you ultimately need to find a piece that fits in with your own individual style and that takes priority over our own suggestions, but we would warn that you be careful not to overdo it with the zippers or metal accents. It is possible to have the overuse of great trends such as zippers ruin a piece because it becomes too busy or distracting. Keep that in mind when you are looking for ways to incorporate such trends into you own wardrobe.
Stripes have become a great component of modern fashion trends and you’ll see all sorts of great tops featuring a variety of different stripe patterns. Stripes are really nothing new, but their popularity has certainly surged in recent years and there are a variety of great ways to incorporate stripe patterns into your closet. Below are a few great examples of different stripes in different types of clothing i.e. tanks, short sleeve, long sleeve, sweaters so that you can get a variety of possibilities and great stripe styles.
First consider the Skye V Neck Dress by designer Ella Moss. This eastern inspired dress style features metallic stripes in a charcoal grey color as contrast. The stripes are diagonal and for added contrast are horizontal in the back. We love the metallic stripe which is such a popular trend in fabrics right now and in addition love the deep chocolate brown color. A great dress from Ella Moss this dress features an empire waist and kimono style v neck. This dress is the perfect fashion statement piece with a great example of trendy stripes.
If you’re looking for short sleeve tops with stripes consider designer Collective Concepts. Known for great patterns and designs and distinctive fabrics, Collective Concepts styles are innovative and our favorite piece actually features wide horizontal stripes in contrasting colors. We love the Lace Trim Stripe Tank. This tank features a racerback and lace trim around the shoulders for added contrast. This tank is a great loose fitting way to incorporate modern stripe patterns into your wardrobe in summer.
When it comes to long sleeve tops, designer Splendid has a great way of infusing stripes into their clothing styles. One distinctive top that we love for their great style trends canvassed on a great contrasting stripe. We love that this stripe pattern features navy and then is contrasted with either pink or mud a light brown color. The Navy Slub Puff Sleeve Top features a puff around the shoulders, a Henley neckline with a v neck. The top also includes ¾ length sleeves and most importantly are the stripes. We love the color of the stripes in either the pink or the mud color and this top is a great example of feminine style mixed with stripes.
Splendid also designed the Cotton Stripe Tie Cardigan another example of wide stripes with a distinctive style design for the sweater. This wrap sweater features a tie around the waist and a bold fold over neckline. We love wearing this sweater over a navy solid long sleeve top or another great bold color for contrast. It is a great long length sweater and the stripes do give it an added edge.
All of these are just the tip of the iceberg of different ways to wear the stripe patterns in your current wardrobe. There are most certainly a number of other designers and styles with great stripes, but we wanted to point out that you can literally incorporate stripes into almost every facet of your wardrobe from tanks to dresses and sweaters. Just be sure that you don’t overwhelm your outfit with too many stripes or contrasting stripe patterns and we always recommend that you steer clear of vertical stripes wherever possible as they are not flattering.
Designer cardigans are the perfect piece to wear this time of year. Cardigans have come a long way from the puffy think styles of the 80s and now you find the modern versions include lighter weight fabrics, distinctive buttons or no buttons, no shoulder pads, and additional trim or details like pockets. Some of our favorite designer cardigans have even transformed into short sleeve versions that are perfect for layering over long sleeve tees or work great over short sleeve tops in warmer weather.
Consider the Cotton Bamboo Cardigan by Splendid. This cardigan made from 70% cotton and 30% bamboo features short loose sleeves, hints of white around the trim in front and as accent in the back and pockets. Without buttons, this cardigan gives a loose look that helps it look slightly less formal, but the style itself gives it a modern edge. The Cotton Bamboo Cardigan features a long length that falls well below the hips.
Another contemporary cardigan style by designer Velvet by Graham and Spencer is the Eloise Winter Slub Long Pocket Cardigan. This long sleeve flared cardigan is another one of our favorites. Part of Velvet’s Winter Slub collection that is so popular this season the Eloise cardigan is a great long cardigan option. You’ll love the long length that works so well with leggings or boots. The loose, open look of the cardigan which adds to the versatility of the cardigan gives you a variety of alternative ways to wear and accessorize it. Our model wears it with an adorable scarf and scoop neck top and jeans. Of course we can’t forget to mention the pockets in front too which give it an added element of distinction compared to other cardigans this season. The winter slub fabric is the perfect blend of texture giving the fabric variation which adds to the uniqueness.
One of everyone’s favorite designers Ella Moss features the Kylie Bust Tie Cardigan. This cardigan is a great dressy piece. Made with lightweight cotton knit which gives this top a sophisticated, sheer look. With a tie at the bust line you can adjust the fit and look of this cardigan to suit any occasion. We love wearing this with a tank in warm weather and then with a long sleeve top in colder weather adding to its usefulness. The empire waist looks very flattering as it is loose enough and sheer enough to ensure that no one looks frumpy. Of course, Ella Moss is a great sophisticated designer that is known for designing modern, yet wearable designs.
As you can see there are a variety of different designs and options to consider when shopping for Designer Cardigans and these are only the tip of the iceberg so to speak. You can find other great cardigan designs from some of our favorite sweater designers including, Laurie B., Splendid and Ella Moss. As the weather warms up, some of the lighter weight wraps and cardigans from designers such as Velvet by Graham and Spencer or Sweet Pea will be great pieces to have on hand.
Some of our favorite tops hail from designer Ella Moss. The wonderful Ella Moss line is well known for their great use of luxurious fabrics to help give their pieces a flowy, feminine look. Ella Moss tops are always contemporary, yet elegant styles and the fabrics make you wish you could wear them all the time. The styles of Ella Moss tops generally fall on the dressier side of your wardrobe, but there are several Ella Moss tops that do have a more casual look. Here are a few of our favorite Ella Moss tops.
Consider the Victoria Front Tie Neck Top by Ella Moss. This top features a ruffle around the neckline and long ties for show or if you were to actually tie them around the neck would give it a more Victorian look. This top features a v neckline with buttons down the center of the bodice. The base of the top has a loose fluid look to it. The sleeves also feature a light ruffle at the hem. Made with contrasting voile fabric around the cuffs and bustline and modal jersey around the body of the top, this top feels as luxurious as it looks. This beautiful top is available in Lemonade (Yellow) or Chive (Green).
The Jocelyn Puff Sleeve Top by Ella Moss is also a great versatile piece for your wardrobe. This top features a lightweight cotton fabric with an adorable pattern including white flowers on the solid cherry red or lemonade yellow fabrics. With a ruffle around the base of the sleeves, the neckline and the waist, this top always looks feminine. The waist line and the cuff of the puff sleeve are gathered as well. Finally, we love the classic, but always perfect Ellassentials Short Sleeve V Neck Top with Smocking. This elegant v neck also features smocking in the center at the base of the v neck for contrast which really does give this top an added element of femininity. The base of the top features a flared empire waist like fit which of course only adds to the feminine touches. This top is available in Admiral (Navy) and Haze (Grey). We love vintage inspired clothing and a variety of different styles. At Vintage Fringe we are always on the look out for great retro styles that have been infused into new pieces with a vintage edge. One vintage style trend is the bohemian trend. What exactly is the bohemian trend or that bohemian look? The easiest way to define it is to show you some great pieces that we think really represent this trend. A lot of bohemian styles feature flared waists—you may see a lot of empire waists in bohemian pieces. Much of it is traditional cotton or currently organic cotton. You may see details like embroidery or ribbons weaved into the design of the top. It may also include retro looking patterns or prints. You have probably seen a lot of this look at Anthropologie or with their brand Free People and we love their stuff as well. We have actually been inspired by some bohemian style pieces from great designer brands like Ella Moss and Sweet Pea. Here are few great examples:
Ella Moss Baja Tie Waist Sweater – this great sweater features a wide v neck sweater with a tie belt at the waist. With a great multi-color striped pattern at the shoulders and hem of the top and sleeves, this top really does exude a vintage inspired look. This sweater is light enough that you can wear it in just about any season except summer. We love the free spirited look that this sweater embodies and think this is a great representation of a bohemian top.
Ella Moss Camille Mandarin Collar Top – Another great bohemian style top from Ella Moss, the Camille top features a beautiful embroidery pattern around the neckline in front. The mandarin collar also makes it distinctive along with the buttons in front allowing it to be a long v neck if you prefer. Made of cotton shirting fabric, this top is light and airy. With ¾ length sleeves which make it easy to wear just about all year long.
Sweet Pea Bohemian Tunic Top – Sweet Pea is known for designing great pieces with fabulous patterns that often have that vintage inspiration. This top is no exception with a great retro pattern featuring brown accents at the hem and trim around the v neck and sleeves. The pattern itself features several great colors in yellow, brown and a light red. You’ll love the split v neck line and the ¾ length sleeves. Sweet Pea’s fabric is a nylon mesh blend so it is ultra light and easy to wear.
These tops offer different elements of that bohemian top trend and we hope you love it as much as we do. That retro look is certainly a great way to spruce up a stuffy wardrobe with more modern styles. We love the ability to mix it up with these tops and wear them a variety of different ways allowing you to truly integrate that vintage style with a modern skirt or other modern fashion trends. You could easily rock any of these tops with boots or leggings depending on your preference.
