As we’ve previously mentioned, we love Splendid Clothing for their fabulous fabrics and patterns, but we would be remiss if we didn’t discuss one of our favorites of their styles their Cotton Slub French Terry. We love this Cotton Slub French Terry Hoodie and in the current temperatures it is perfect for layering over a long sleeve top. We love the empire waist and the tie to keep it as loose or as fitted as you prefer. While it is technically a dress, in these cold temperatures this would be super cute over leggings or jeans and we love the length. It does fit roughly mid-thigh so it would truly be perfect with leggings. Plus we think you could wear this Splendid hoodie for sure in Fall/Winter/Spring giving you more bang for your buck in the current economic environment.

Of course, it wouldn’t be Splendid Clothing if the fabrics weren’t fabulous too. The cotton slub french terry is a soft sweatshirt fabric and it is truly soft. Splendid Brand clothing is known for their fabulous fabrics, but also for their hip, stylish patterns. One of our favorite patterns is the black rose pattern featured on this ivy green empire waist v neck top. Such patterns are yet another great tribute to vintage styles. This pattern is more subdued than the aforementioned twist on the animal print by Sweet Pea, but for that feminine, stylish look, you can’t go wrong with this classic top by Splendid Brand Clothing. Speaking of patterns, what is more feminine than roses?
Splendid Clothing
We love the additional feminine touches Splendid adds including the contrasting pattern on the v neck, the cuffs, and the hem. Nothing is more feminine than an empire waist. We like the fitted look created in this top, a slight contrast from many modern empire waist tops with looser fits. The black rose print combined with the ivy green color also creates a distinctive contrast. Green is currently such a popular color this season as are good patterns. Last, but certainly not least, this top is extremely comfortable and we love the length of this top. Depending on your body type, this type typically falls below the hips.
In short, we love the feminine pattern, the style and the color another fabulous piece by Splendid!

We are wild about Sweet Pea at Vintage Fringe and now with one of their latest prints in this fashionable hoodie, you can be too. We love the pattern.

Velvet Brand Clothing
Velvet by Graham and Spencer is the topic of our latest vintage style observation. One of our favorite pieces is this Velvet brand Olka dress featuring a V neck empire waist with pleats accented with a bow at the base of the V. The 3/4 sleeves also make this great to wear in just about every season.
We love the baby jersey fabric in a mushroom (light brown) color. What we especially love about the dress is its vintage style. This Olka dress reminds us of a dress worn by Ginger Rogers pictured below. The Velvet version features a few distinctions with the bow and the wider V versus the wrap V. Shown here with heels, we think that the modern fashionista could easily rock this dress with boots too.
Vintage Style Dress
We love that about Velvet by Graham and Spencer. All of their designs have that vintage style combined with great fabrics that make them versatile, stylish and comfortable all at the same time. In our vintage style quest to find clothing that has a bit of flair while also incorporating a bit of vintage style, today we are highlighting a piece that we think would have been the perfect fit for Greta Garbo in “Grand Hotel.”
Garbo's Vintage Style
We love the flowing top and think that today’s modern version would have even Greta smiling. The modern version is made by Zooey which means that of course it feels luxurious enough that even Greta would approve. Made with supima cotton and a contrasting voile fabric, this Pintuck Empire top creates the ultimate vintage look.
The collar is really a modified mandarin collar which is connected by two accent buttons. With 3/4 length sleeves and the voile fabric that flares on the sleeves, this top is sure to be a favorite. While the top is loose at the bottom, it still provides a fitted look because of the empire waist.

Zooey by Alice Heller is a great brand with fashions ranging from basics to extravagance, but even the basics are made of supima cottons so they feel far from basic.
