Fabulous Fall Jackets

November is almost here and with it comes even colder weather and the need for warm and chic fashion. I love jackets because they keep us warm and are so easy to button up and look put together instantly. A great jacket with a funky vibe is the Bomber Jacket by Zooey Clothing. It is so cute with the exaggerated collar, front pockets, and short hem. This would be so cute with jeans as shown, or with a pencil skirt and sparkly top for a night out.

For even colder weather, try the Heavy Fleece Coatby Zooey Clothing. I love the hood, I love the long sleeves, I love the banded bottom. Seriously, what it not to love on this jacket??

Lastly, if a more laid back look is for you, try the French Terry with Lycra Hooded Jacket by Splendid. This would be so easy to throw on over just about anything and I think it would be totally cute with a flower pin, or a little brooch to add a pop of color.

Designer Boutique Clothes

Fashion is all about creating your own individual style.  We all dread the prospect of showing up to anything wearing the same dress or top as someone else.   Designer boutiques can help you solve this problem with unique clothing offerings that are not the same old pieces you see at every department store.  We founded Vintage Fringe to meet this exact need.  Designer boutique clothes are far more individualistic and distinctive.  Designer boutiques often don’t carry the same quantities that the big department stores carry so it is much more limited which ensures that it really will be your individual style.   They can also be a great place to spot the latest fashion trends and styles.  We all have that great piece that we discovered at a designer boutique that really became a statement piece in our wardrobe and often helps us to stretch out of our clothing comfort zone to incorporate some of the latest fashion trends.

Boutiques also often carry unique or new and upcoming designers.  We often love those great clothes that we find at that designer boutique because often they can introduce us to designers that we previously may never have heard about.  Great designer boutiques should always offer their clientele wonderful introductions to new or previously unknown designers.    Not only is it a benefit to find great new designers to love to keep your wardrobe fresh and trendy, but also because it also ensures that you won’t see everyone else wearing the same thing.

Of course we all know about how great designer clothes are and the amazing fabrics that they utilize along with lots of embellishments.  An example of a great designer that is often found at boutiques is AlixK.  We love AlixK because of the embellishments and the attention to detail on every piece.  Featuring darts to help give their tops a feminine, flattering fit along with floral embroidery patterns on a majority of their tops, the AlixK top epitomizes great designer boutique clothing.  Some of our favorite AlixK tops are made from a silk cotton blend which feels extremely soft and oh so luxurious.  The best part is the fabric is ultimately a knit so it has a comfortable, wearable feel and is even machine washable!

Many designer boutiques are now featured online which makes them super convenient.  With the ability to shop on your own schedule and frequently with deals on shipping finding designer boutique clothes can be simple.  Another advantage to designer clothes is the consistency in sizing, so you shouldn’t have to worry too much about fit, but finding an online designer boutique that offers free returns can also be a plus.   At Vintage Fringe we offer free shipping and free returns on all orders excluding items in our outlet.  Our goal is to always offer great feminine fashions that will enable to you create your own individual style and to help you discover a mix of niche known and unknown designers that will always have your friends asking where did you get that?

Fashionable Fall Satchels and Totes

Fashion designers recognize that with fall we need more space in our bags, for school, work, and a host of other activities that we are involved in from day to day. More and more very chic and fashionable satchels and totes are available for all of our carrying needs. I love that you can find a larger tote or satchel in just every about every style out there, so no matter if you like plain, printed, embellished or sparkly, there is a bag for you! Lets start with the Oryany ‘Gwen – Vintage North/South’ Crossbody Satchel. This is perfect for someone who prefers a more plain style, but with all the details and different options for carrying, this satchel doesn’t disappoint.

I personally love a little embellishment, which is why I absolutely adore the Grazing Roan Bag. With its flowers of differing shapes, braided handle, and perfect muted gray color for fall I can see it being an ideal accessory for my fall and winter fashion choices.

If color is more of your thing, then feast your eyes on the Traced Aureolin Bag. The soft leather in mustard yellow and printed silk bow, really make this bag an attention getter. What I love about this bag is the sweet topstiching, adding even more fringe to this chic bag.

What is your bag style for fall?? I love them all, but I think I love embellished most. Be sure to leave me a comment and tell which style is most tempting for you!

Emmy Inspiration

The stars and fashion came out for the Emmy Awards last weekend. So many beautiful gowns to see, it was a delight for the eyes{mostly}. If you missed the red carpet, no worries, I have a few select looks to share that are sure to inspire you to have a more fashionable week! First, is Lea Michelle, the first lady of Glee really wowed in a sweet heart neckline and navy ruffles.

I have to say that I was rather impressed with the entire cast, and just have to share both Dianna Argon is her beautiful blush colored lace overlay gown and Heather Morris in her gold belted number. I really love both of these looks and think that a little lace and sparkle is always a good thing, even for everyday looks.

Check out this ultra-vibrant and unexpected purple, one shoulder, frock that Emily Deshanel sported. Love the color, and layered detail.

Tina Fey looked fabulous, probably my favorite look. I love that she is covered up, much more modest then most celebs at awards shows and she still looks stunning. The cut, fit and fabric are wonderful. I love it! Bravo!

I hope this helps inspire your choices of fashion this week, have fun and don’t forget a little day time drama can go a long way!

Stripes in Fashion

When fashion finds something that works for everyone, the trend tends to stay around and this year stripes have gone from fall, to spring and now summer. I am loving how the chic, laid back style of stripes can work for just about any occasion. Check out this Alexander McQueen striped dress, made famous by the ever stylish Rihanna.

If you don’t have this dress in your closet {its sold out} try this Splendid Slub Shadow Stripe Waist Tie Top in navy/red combo. {It’s shown here in green/red} It would be a great piece for spring and summer and could easily be worn with shorts, capris, or leggings.

Another great look for summer is black and white small stripes. Seen here on Sienna Miller is a Chanel version of this trend.

I feel like my closet just has too much Chanel in it, {you probably feel the same way right??} so I have opted for this more understated Laurie B. Gable Stripe Cardigan. I love the zipper detail and the wide sleeves are ultra flattering.

If you haven’t tried stripes, now is the time! They are oh so chic and are so adaptable to most any look. Have a fabulous weekend!

Fashion Trend: Charm Necklaces

All fall and winter your neck was covered with adorable scarfs or turtlenecks.  Now that it’s springtime, it is time to decorate your neck with a little bling vintage style.  Double strand necklaces are the perfect fashion statement for you neck- especially with a boat-neck style top.  To go purely vintage check out Chanel’s clear crystal sautoir.

Chanel's Vintage Extra Long Clear Crystal Sautoir

While this vintage piece is exquisite some of us may not have the $1,495 dollars to spend.  If that is the case maybe you will like my interpretation of this necklace.  Retailing for a very reasonable $30 dollars.

Vintage Fringe exclusively is selling  jewelry designer Rosanne Follman’s double strand charm necklace. I love the use of soft green mother of pearl shells along with silver charms to create a beautiful vintage inspired, but very fashion forward piece.  The length of this necklace is 24 inches, it is a  copper chai with a toggle clasp.

I would pair this necklace with Velvet’s Daree Wide Sleeve Boatneck Top in Milk (ivory)

I think the mother of pearl green shells with silver would pair perfectly this with boatneck top designed by Velvet by Graham and Spencer.  What do you think? What would you pair this necklace with?

Athletic Wear to Inspire

Now that summer is really getting close it is time to get serious about our fitness routines ladies! I for one am always more motivated when I have something cute and fashionable to put on for my workouts, starting with super comfortable and functional shoes. Workout and running shoes have really come a long way in the past decade and we have so many more options available, clearly too many to discuss, but I will highlight a few that would be great for getting in shape this spring.

Nike 'Shox Qualify+ LAF' Running Shoe

Nike 'Shox Qualify+ LAF' Running Shoe

I love the color combo of this Nike Shox Qualify + LAF Running Shoe, and it is a bonus that the yellow is supporting those living with cancer. This is a lightweight, easy to wear running shoe that will for sure put a smile to your face and hopefully want to make you go outside and be active.{or just go get in a hard gym session!}

Onitsuka Tiger™ 'Ultimate '81™' Sneaker

Onitsuka Tiger™ 'Ultimate '81™' Sneaker

Ok, these shoes are just too cute, I love the colors, and I love the retro vibe of the styling as well. The Onituka Tiger Ultimate ’81 is a reproduction of the original shoes that came out it, you guessed it 1981. These shoes would be great for most any active activity and are so cheery and fun.

FitFlop 'Fiorella' Sandal

FitFlop 'Fiorella' Sandal

If you are less into hard core sweat sessions and more into walks, the FitFlop ‘Fiorella’ Sandal would be perfect for spring and summer strolls. I love the added fringe of the flowers which makes these sandals easily go from brisk walk at the park to lunch date with the ladies.  Whatever your style, a active life is a healthy life so find something you enjoy and go out there and sweat! {and be cute while you do it!}

Trend Alert: Braided Hair

From side-braids to thick braids how you style your hair can make a real fashion statement this spring.  Braided hair was all over the place at all the major spring fashion shows.

I guess the best part of this fashion trend is that it is absolutely free and not really that hard to do.  Some designers featured a perfect braid but most had the more modern messy braid instead.

Celebrities seem to have embraces the “headband” braid as another great way to style your locks.  From Lauren Conrad to Portia del Rosssi and even Rachel McAdams the braid has become a basic updo.  There are even YouTube videos dedicated to teaching you how to pull off the Lauren Conrad braid.

This dress is Ella Moss’ Hollie Racerback Maxi Dress available at Vintage Fringe.  I guess I shouldn’t be suprised Angelina loves this dress, it is made of the softest supima cotton.  I also love this crochet neck-line that features a sort of floral detail.  This dress is also one of the most flattering long dresses, because of the empire waist detail.

All About Head Gear

No, I don’t mean the 1980’s kind that you wore with your braces at night, I am talking about the hot, hot, trend of headbands! Headbands are everywhere right now, Gossip Girl is obsessed with them, designers are pairing them with their runway looks, and every store from Target to Saks carries them. So, if you haven’t tried them yet, now is the time! They are so chic and simple to add to just about any outfit. {not to mention they make ponytail days look instantly glam!} With bows, feathers, flowers, rhinestones and more there is sure to be something that fits with everyone’s style and the best part is that no matter if you have short, long, or even no hair, a headband is going to look cute! Here are several different headbands to get you started with rocking this look. First, is this super cute striped bow, it is girly, but not too much with a men’s wear inspired print. Don’t be afraid to rock these stripes with a patterned shirt, mixing prints is very in right now. I won’t tell you the insane price of this little number, but it is very affordable so no worries if you only use it every so often.

Secondly, is this sweet little Rose Buddy headband. I love the look of the rose buds, they are small enough to not make a massive statement, but big enough to notice and add some fringe to your outfit of chouice. This lovely band comes in an array of colors, making it easy to choose one that suites you!

Ok, so I wanted to share one of my favorite feather headbands next, but I just couldn’t pass up sharing this gorgeous Camryn band. I just love the bright color and detail on this one. Imagine it with a coral colored top and white jeans for summer, so cute! True Birds has loads of cute head gear, they would be a good place to start if you are new to this trend.

Now go out there and rock this look! Be confidant, you will look amazing, trust me. And if you are looking for some fashion to match, check out Vintage Fringe for all your clothing needs! {or wants, or desires}
