Sweet Pea Tops

This spring or summer you will absolutely want to include a sexy Sweet Pea top.  Sweet Pea Tops by designer Stacy Frati are also a great way to introduce sophisticated patterns into your wardrobe.  The Sweet Pea line is known for fabulous patterns on almost every piece.  Of course you can also find Sweet Pea in solid colors, but the pattern is a Sweet Pea signature.  Stacy Frati designs great pieces in a classic nylon mesh fabric which is extremely forgiving and comfortable to wear.  It was designed to be breathable in humidity.  The Sweet Pea by Stacy Frati line hails from Miami where humidity can be a sweltering.  Stacy also designed the Sweet Pea line to be not only wearable but also versatile.  She wants each piece to be something that you can wear to the office or to the carpool.  Sweet Pea tops are also designed in many amazing feminine styles.  Here are few examples of these fabulous Sweet Pea tops with classic, beautiful patterns in a variety of feminine styles.

Consider the Bell Sleeve top by Sweet Pea by Stacy Frati – This top features a beautiful black and fuscia filigree pattern with a wide solid fuscia accenting the narrow v neck.  True to its name the top features wide bell like sleeves that flare at the bottom of the sleeve.   Of course the signature nylon mesh fabric makes this top feel lightweight and comfortable.

For a great spring or summer top take a look at the Cap Sleeve Ruched Top by Sweet Pea.  This top features ruched or gathered fabric around the center of the bust in this top.  With a great element of contrast featuring a red contrasting fabric at the base of the v neck, this top incorporates lovely feminine touches.  We love the airy cap sleeve and the adorable navy nylon mesh fabric with a cute modern polka dot pattern.

Alternatively consider a great Sweet Pea tank for this summer.  Consider the Surplice V Neck Tank Top which we have in a couple of patterns the Wilma or the Felix.  The Wilma pattern features an ivory background with a dotted circle pattern in purple, teal blue and green pattern.  With purple accents around the neckline, we love the deep v neck look of the surplice neckline.  Alternatively, the Felix pattern features an elegant yellow background with a floral pattern featuring some flowers in sky blue and orange.  All of the flowers are outlined in black and of course the pattern also features a black accent around the neckline.

These are a few illustrations of how versatile and feminine the Sweet Pea line actually is.  Here are three tops that can be worn in a variety of different ways and in a variety of different temperatures.  We love layering the Sweet Pea tank under a blazer for a work meeting or wearing the Long Sleeve top with a cute skirt and boots during the winter.  In short, there are endless options for you to utilize a few great Sweet Pea tops in your wardrobe.

Relaxed Fall Styles

September fashion is a bridge from the light weight and loose clothes of summer to the structured heavy weights of fall and I for one am having a hard time coping with the fact that it is indeed September and summer is ending. To help me{and you!} feel better about the situation, I have found some truly beautiful pieces that are a little bit summer and a little bit fall. Which makes them perfect for right now!

Trend Alert: Pattern

In fashion, color, pattern, and texture are all a part of the current trend and this spring we are seeing more and more pattern. Some big, some small, but pattern and lots of it. There is anything from floral, to the newer watery effect dresses that many celebrities have recently been spotted wearing. If you are someone who sticks to the basic solids, now is the time to dip your toe into the fun world of pattern. Something that is not too scary to try is black and white pattern, I really like the leafy almost damask print of this Belted Ruffle Top from Sweet Peaby Staci Frati. Just having pattern on top draws the eye up to your face and the flattering built in belt really creates or accentuates curves.

If you are feeling a bit more bold, try an all over pattern. This Chapel Dress by Velvet has a gorgeous pattern that isn’t too overwhelming and comes in two different color combinations that are both flattering, either black and white or red and white.

No matter what your pattern style may be, remember my number one rule: if you aren’t comfortable and confidant in what you are wearing, it won’t look good. So make choices that work for you and not the model in the picture. Now tell me, are you an all over pattern the more the merry type of gal, or a small hits of pattern here and there type of gal?? Me, it depends on my mood!

All about Shoulders and Sleeves!

Bold shoulders and sleeves have been all over the runways, magazines, and celebrities this year. And for good reason, the updated version of the 1980’s shoulder pad trend is classy and accentuates{or tricks the eye to see} a small waist, it creates beautiful curves.  I love fashion, however it is just not practical for me to wear some of the more extreme sleeve and shoulder styles that celebrities have been spotted wearing{did you see Rihanna’s or Fergie’s spiked shoulders?}. So, for those of us with less red carpet events and more grocery carts in our lives, here are some cute ways to incorporate the bold shoulder and sleeve trend into your closet.
I love the vibrant color of this Scoop Neck top by Splendid, and the puffy, puckered sleeve really draws attention to the shoulder/sleeve area. There are so many great details in this top, and if you wanted create more curves, I think it would look fabulous belted.

The beautiful black and white damask print pattern on this short sleeve Deconstructed V Neck by Sweet Pea really draws the eye up and the double layer sleeve creates a more dramatic and bold shoulder.

Make sure to look for details in your tops, they will always draw the eye to it and if those details happen to fall on the sleeve or shoulder, they will accentuate that area. So what do you think, to spike or not to spike?? {Are Rihanna and Fergie completely mad or completely awesome??} Tell me what you think!

Sweet Pea Tops are Always on Top of Fashion

Sweet Pea by Stacy Frati is always on top of fashion and this season’s tops here at Vintage Fringe are no exception!  A perfect example is Sweet Pea’s Belted Ruffle Top.  This top is a classic example of Sweet Pea’s patterned shirts that are feminine and soft.  This shirt also combines some of this season’s hottest fashion trends with its ruffle neckline and accent belt.  Best of all the belt is patterned on one side and contrasted in pink on the other, so you can pull off two completely different looks with one shirt.

Best of all this shirt’s navy and ivory pattern is perfect for spring!  Another trendy top / dress by Sweet Pea that we absolutely love is the Tie Short Dress.  This Tie Short dress features Sweet Pea Clothing’s famous Joplin brown and pink pattern with a solid brown panel along the front.  This dress is fabulous with leggings, and the side ties allows for a perfect and fashionable fit.

These two looks are perfect illustrations of why Sweet Pea Tops and Sweet Pea Dresses are so feminine and these feminine details combined with comfortable, wearable fabrics are always in fashion!
