While Red Carpet fashion isn’t something I wear on a daily basis…I do try to see what celebrities pick to wear and glean some fashion trends from them. This year the fashion magazines and I agree the major trend was ruffles. Romantic Ruffles were everywhere on the red carpets of the Golden Globes and the Screen Actors Guild Awards. Below are my favorite best dressed celebrities and my own everyday translation to their style.
First the Golden Globes and the beautiful and every elegant Diane Kruger in a ruffled Pink gown by Christian Lacroix.

Diane Kruger looking pretty in pink at the Golden Globes
I first started noticing Diane Kruger when she played the face who launched a thousand ships as Helen in Troy. Since then she has proven she has impeccable taste, especially on the red carpet. I love this vibrant pink color which will no doubt be perfect for fall. My everyday translation of this style and dress is this 4 Tiered Ruffle Tank by Sweet Pea.

Sweet Pea by Stacy Frati 4 Tiered Ruffled Tank
Sweet Pea’s signature lightweight and flowing fabric in this fuchsia color is a perfect everyday version of Diane’s red carpet look. This ruffled tank can easily be dressed up or down and will make everyone look glamorous and trendy for spring.
My other favorite red carpet look was Glee’s very own Lea Michele and her green goddess dress designed by Catherine Malandrino

- Lea Michele at the Screen Actors Guild Awards
This plunging ruffled v-neck gown was gorgeous and oh so daring. My interpretation or should I say translation of this red carpet look is the Aggie V-Neck Ruffle Dress in chive by Ella Moss.

- Ella Moss Aggie V Neck Ruffle Dress
You can always count on Ella Moss to design fun and flirty designer dresses for spring. While the v-neck is not as plunging as Lea’s red carpet gown that is probably a good thing. This shorter striped dress has a wonderfully flattering empire waist and slanted stripe detail that is oh so flattering. Win your own best dressed awards with these styles and more available at VintageFringe.

Fashion trends in the spring and summer, when the flowers begin to bloom and the weather gets a tad warmer are so much more fun than your winter fashion trends. While there are many, many trends this season, I will tell you my top picks and how to wear them. Let’s just say that skin is definitely in this season!
Neutrals
Get naked (no pun intended) this season! Try to incorporate a nude shade in your wardrobe for day as well as evening – think skin-tone. Best of all, neutral shades can be paired with everything and anything from brights and prints to basic black. You should especially splurge on a neutral accessory such as a handbag or cork wedge sandal. The shade is effortlessly classic and goes with everything.
Peek-A-Boo
This style is truly for the daring. With material such as mesh and lace and strategically placed cut-outs, the look is undeniably edgy. Dark shades are incorporated into many Alexander Wang, Michael Kors, Rodarte and Preen pieces this season, which show off a bold and sexy silhouette.
Feathers
Feathers are a fun and feminine touch to both clothing and accessories. You could pair a funky headband with a bright feather as a nice touch to a boring outfit, or you could pair a feather print blouse with destroyed skinny jeans and a few bracelets for a bohemian look. Feathers are definitely springlike and are a great alternative to floral prints! You can find several great feather patterns by Sweet Pea.
Can’t wait to begin shopping for this season’s pieces? Check out my favorite trend focused site and get inspired by your favorite celebrity’s style!

The site focuses on designs that incorporate feminine details on their garments as well as vintage finds, perfect for the ultimate girly girly! You can shop by color, price, size and brand. There is also a huge selection of comfy cotton pieces from my favorite brands such as Ella Moss, Splendid and Velvet by Graham & Spencer.

The Mod look from the 60′s seems to be inspiration on runways everywhere. Sweet Pea is just one of many designers who is turning the classic mod look into a modern style and here at Vintage Fringe we have found many mod patterns and cuts that can be a great addition to any one’s personal style. After all, new vintage style clothing is what Vintage Fringe is all about.

Sweet Pea Mod Retro Tunic
So what do we at vintage fringe recommend to turn your mod on? First we love this Mod Retro Tunic from Sweet Pea. Pair this bold and colorful Rupert patterned tunic with leggings, chunky jewelry, and a darkly lined eye and you’ll capture the look of the modern mod. If sleeveless isn’t your thing I adore another variation on this fabulous look, at Vintage Fringe we also love Sweet Pea’s Retro Boatneck Dress also in the Rupert pattern.

Sweet Pea Retro Boatneck Dress
This dress is a bit longer than the tunic and would look great with high boots, leggings, or even dark colored tights. Both looks are fun and flirty and will keep you fresh and modern this fall. To find designer dresses for fall just visit us at Vintage Fringe.

Ruffle Tops are a huge fashion trend this summer! Lindsay Lohan and Hilary Duff are just a few celebrities who are digging the ruffle look.

Lindsay Lohan in Ruffles
Here at Vintage fringe we have so many different ruffle tops and dresses to choose from. The classic example is our La Befana Ruffle Halter Tank. La Befana chooses the classic Halter top cut to really accentuate the ruffle detail making the top classy and flattering. La Befana added one more classic signature to this top–an adorable tie in the back. This ruffle halter comes in a dusty blue that looks beautiful with khaki and is such a classic color it really can be worn in every season.
Another trendy tank I just adore is the Sweet Pea 4 Tiered Ruffle Tank. Like all of Sweet Pea clothing this tank is bright and feminine. This strappy tank features 4 tiers of ruffles and comes in a beautiful cranapple witch is a bright fuschia color as well as rain which is an aqua blue.

At Vintage Fringe we have ruffle tanks, ruffle shirts, and ruffle dresses so don’t miss out on one of this summer’s cutest trends.

Our vote for this summer’s Hottest Sweet Pea Tank Top is the criss cross tank. Sweet Pea Tanks are light, breezy, and full of colorful fabrics that are the perfect answer to the summer heat. This summer must have is colorful and features a unique criss cross in the front combined with the signature color pattern so unique to Sweet Pea designer clothing. This tank also has the classic and always flattering empire waist along with an added length which makes this tank so easy to wear with anything for any body type.

Sweet Pea Criss Cross Tank
I wear this tank by itself with jeans, or layer it with a cardigan and it is perfect for a day of running errands or a night out! The pattern features a great mix of navy, lilac, light blue, and fuschia colors. The great colors combined with the length of this tank always looks hot with a set of dark jeans or even leggings. Find this tank and others from Sweet Pea or our other great designers now at Vintage Fringe.

Sweet Pea by Stacy Frati is always on top of fashion and this season’s tops here at Vintage Fringe are no exception! A perfect example is Sweet Pea’s Belted Ruffle Top. This top is a classic example of Sweet Pea’s patterned shirts that are feminine and soft. This shirt also combines some of this season’s hottest fashion trends with its ruffle neckline and accent belt. Best of all the belt is patterned on one side and contrasted in pink on the other, so you can pull off two completely different looks with one shirt.

Sweet Pea Clothing Belted Ruffle Top
Best of all this shirt’s navy and ivory pattern is perfect for spring! Another trendy top / dress by Sweet Pea that we absolutely love is the Tie Short Dress. This Tie Short dress features Sweet Pea Clothing’s famous Joplin brown and pink pattern with a solid brown panel along the front. This dress is fabulous with leggings, and the side ties allows for a perfect and fashionable fit.
These two looks are perfect illustrations of why Sweet Pea Tops and Sweet Pea Dresses are so feminine and these feminine details combined with comfortable, wearable fabrics are always in fashion!

We’ve mentioned how much we love Sweet Pea Clothing’s patterns, but today we wanted to rave about one that we think is a great modern twist on a vintage style trend. When we saw this dot pattern by Sweet Pea it reminded us of a pattern found less frequently today…the polka dot pattern. We really like polka dots and while they can sometimes be overdone, we wish we saw them more often in modern styles.

Sweet Pea Dot Pattern Hoop Dolman Top
This Sweet Pea dot pattern is unique with its different size dots on vines or branches in either a black, white, lime green and purple color scheme or in a navy, white, red and pink color scheme. We love the contrasting colors and in particular love the line green mixed in with the purple and white. Shown to the left in the Sweet Pea Hoop Dolman top, this style features lime green lining that you can see peeking out at the bottom. Don’t miss this pattern in Sweet Pea’s long sleeve drawstring empire waist top too.
If these colors aren’t your cup of tea, check out Sweet Pea’s long sleeve combo cuff crewneck in the same pattern in the blue / red color scheme.

Splendid Brand clothing is known for their fabulous fabrics, but also for their hip, stylish patterns. One of our favorite patterns is the black rose pattern featured on this ivy green empire waist v neck top. Such patterns are yet another great tribute to vintage styles. This pattern is more subdued than the aforementioned twist on the animal print by Sweet Pea, but for that feminine, stylish look, you can’t go wrong with this classic top by Splendid Brand Clothing. Speaking of patterns, what is more feminine than roses?

Splendid Clothing
We love the additional feminine touches Splendid adds including the contrasting pattern on the v neck, the cuffs, and the hem. Nothing is more feminine than an empire waist. We like the fitted look created in this top, a slight contrast from many modern empire waist tops with looser fits. The black rose print combined with the ivy green color also creates a distinctive contrast. Green is currently such a popular color this season as are good patterns. Last, but certainly not least, this top is extremely comfortable and we love the length of this top. Depending on your body type, this type typically falls below the hips.
In short, we love the feminine pattern, the style and the color another fabulous piece by Splendid!
