All fall and winter your neck was covered with adorable scarfs or turtlenecks. Now that it’s springtime, it is time to decorate your neck with a little bling vintage style. Jewelry Designer Rosanne Follman's Double Strand Charm Necklace
Vintage Fringe exclusively is selling jewelry designer Rosanne Follman’s double strand charm necklace. I love the use of soft green mother of pearl shells along with silver charms to create a beautiful vintage inspired, but very fashion forward piece. The length of this necklace is 24 inches, it is a copper chai with a toggle clasp.

Ella Moss Clothing
Ella Moss Clothing is naturally known as a trendy, fashionable line for women, but at Vintage Fringe we also love how much of their line is impacted by vintage style. For example, take this picture of Katherine Hepburn circa the 1940s. Notice the puffy sleeves and the cinched center with the v neck. All of these details are rampant in today’s modern fashions and many of them are found in recent designs from Ella Moss.

Check out the Ella Moss Puff Sleeve V Neck top; perhaps the best illustration of this Hepburn vintage style in modern application. We love the cinched v neck, the puff sleeve and another application of another fashion trend as we mentioned in prior posts this awesome Smokey Purple Color.
This top is available at Vintage Fringe in this color, Ella Moss calls it Soot. We love the look of this top and love the feminine touches as well as the homage to vintage style. More importantly, we want to know what you think about this top and specifically these vintage style trends.

We’ve mentioned how much we love Sweet Pea Clothing’s patterns, but today we wanted to rave about one that we think is a great modern twist on a vintage style trend. When we saw this dot pattern by Sweet Pea it reminded us of a pattern found less frequently today…the polka dot pattern. We really like polka dots and while they can sometimes be overdone, we wish we saw them more often in modern styles.

This Sweet Pea dot pattern is unique with its different size dots on vines or branches in either a black, white, lime green and purple color scheme or in a navy, white, red and pink color scheme. We love the contrasting colors and in particular love the line green mixed in with the purple and white. Shown to the left in the Sweet Pea Hoop Dolman top, this style features lime green lining that you can see peeking out at the bottom. Don’t miss this pattern in Sweet Pea’s long sleeve drawstring empire waist top too.

We are wild about Sweet Pea at Vintage Fringe and now with one of their latest prints in this fashionable hoodie, you can be too. We love the pattern.

A great twist on the ever-popular, but almost overdone animal prints, this bold Sweet Pea pattern takes a bold, but new approach with splashes of pink and gold along with the black and ivory. When we saw this picture of Grace Kelly wearing this elegant patterned top, at first it reminded us of a Sweet Pea top. Sweet Pea Apparel is an amazing designer and we love their vintage style. In particular we love the unique prints that make their tops so distinctive and the combination of unique styles that make all of Sweet Pea’s tops look non-traditional, but elegant at the same time.

Then as we looked at this picture a little longer we thought it also reminded us of an AlixK top. With AlixK’s signature handmade embroidery on each of its tops in patterns similar to that seen on Grace’s top, we couldn’t help but draw a comparison.

When we wrote this entry we were torn as to which designer clothing item this reminded us of more. Sweet Pea or AlixK? And we couldn’t pick just one. So in honor of the democratic country in which we live, we decided we would leave it up to the popular vote and let you decide.
Either way, we are pleased that at a minimum this Grace Kelly top just serves to remind us that much of Vintage Style truly is timeless.

Zooey Clothing
Zooey clothing features timeless turtlenecks that while they are generally timeless pieces for your fall and winter wardrobes, we also love the updated stylish twists designers like Zooey have incorporated into the modern, hip turtleneck. Even Audrey Hepburn made turtlenecks look fashionable!

Here’s what we love about the one of the different styles of turtlenecks that we feature at Vintage Fringe, today we’re highlighting the turtlenecks by Zooey. First we love Zooey’s loose version of the turtleneck. The turtleneck itself isn’t tight or restrictive, is actually a loose fit which allows it to just naturally fall around the neck providing a hip and stylish look.
Next, we love the length of all of these Zooey tops, they all fit well below the waist so you don’t have to worry about that uncomfortable feeling as your top crawls up throughout the day. Velvet Brand Clothing
Empire Waist tops are very popular this upcoming winter. We’re seeing lots of empire waists that are long creating a modern twist on the tunic style tops. We think this style of top is a mainstay of creating a vintage style look.
One of our favorites at Vintage Fringe is the Vevina top from Velvet by Graham and Spencer. We love the empire waist, the length, and the buttons used for accents on the sleeves and neckline. It has a fitted bohemian style top that gives you that sophisticated, yet casual look. This top is currently available in white, brown (mushroom), pink, and black.
Another great empire waist style top at Vintage Fringe is the Discharge top by AlixK. The AlixK line features a distinctive fabric with a silk cotton blend and unique hand made embroidery on every top.

They also pay so much attention to the details on the tops with each shirt featuring things like gathered turtlenecks or darts on the bodice. What we love about the Discharge is the empire waist and design currently available in Black with Grey embroidery and Brown and Lighter Brown embroidery. We also have it in Ivory with ivory embroidery that will be available for sale next week. We hate struggling with some turtlenecks in getting them to stay in the right place. We love the gathered turtleneck that just falls in place on its own. You’ll also love the gathered cuffs on the sleeves giving this top another added feminine detail.

Laurie B. Sweaters
It’s sweater season and this winter we wanted to let you know what we’ve seen for upcoming sweater trends. We love the sweaters we carry from Laurie B. One reason why we love them so much is because they are not your typical stuffy sweater. These sweaters are all super stylish and what makes them Vintage Fringe worthy is their attention to cute details like pockets and large buttons.
One trend that we’ve seen are the short sleeve cardigan sweaters. With a bit of a twist on the retro cardigan from years gone by, the new short sleeve versions are perfect for layering over turtlenecks or long sleeve tops. These cardigans are a great alternative to a vest and would be amazing with leggings or boots. We love the Laurie B. details including the pockets, the off-center snaps that give it that finished look. At Vintage Fringe we currently have two versions the Emmy (shown) and the Sunset cardigan. The Emmy features an acrylic/wool/mohair blend and the Sunset is made from a cotton/elite blend. Both are fabulous sweaters and this style of sweater the short sleeve cardigan is a big trend this upcoming winter season. We currently have a few left of the Sunset version available in Navy Blue and Black and the Emmy available in Green (shown), Sky Blue, and Brown.

Zooey Long Sleeve Crew Neck

Nothing complements vintage style better than boots. It’s that time of year where boots become a wardrobe staple. While we don’t yet sell boots at Vintage Fringe, we do have several tops that would be fabulous with boots. Starting with The Frock from Laurie B., we love this tunic length sweater that can also be a dress if you have that perfect body.

Available in Bark (Taupe) and Plum (Aubergine) both of these tops would be great with your basic black or brown boots. Boots will absolutely rock this sweater.
Another bootworthy top/dress is the Orange and Black Empire Waist dress by Sweet Pea. This dress can really be worn almost any time of year, but for fall/winter this dress would be absolutely perfect with boots.
The empire waist gives it that added level of femininity and with boots and the vivid colors and pattern, this dress is sure to make a bold statement.
Another perfect combination with boots are any of our Long Sleeve Crew Tunic length tops by Zooey.

Let’s be honest, each of these tops will help give you a unique look as they are, but we think they would be fabulous with boots too.
