As the colder temperatures settle in, it’s time spruce up your Sweater wardrobe and today we wanted to talk about one of our latest must have pieces for your closet this season – Elan Sweaters. We recently started carrying this line at Vintage Fringe and their sweaters are probably one of Elan’s most well known staples. Personally, what I love about these sweaters are their distinctive style. These sweaters are not the classic cable knit v neck sweater or cardigans that you see in many of the retail chain stores. Rather the Elan Sweaters we carry at Vintage Fringe have been chosen by our buyers because of their distinctive styles.
Elan Butterfly Turtleneck Sweater
Consider the Elan Butterfly Turtleneck Sweater. This sweater utilizes a stylish oversized turtleneck at the top and then the dolman sleeve which is so popular this season. In addition, the sweater also features a loose fit at the waist that actually flares. In fact the center of the sweater is actually shorter than the sides. These two components warranted the Butterfly description. There is also the contrasting ribbed textured knit down the center which is also a great modern way to mix it up with the style of this sweater. For all of these reasons it really is a statement sweater, but best of all it can be dressed up or down. My favorite look is with skinny jeans and high boots to really create that modern edgy look. It’s available in Ash Grey a light shade of grey so it pairs well with both whites and blacks for layering. The sweater knit is acrylic and definitely keeps you warm, but not at the expense of looking fashionable.
Elan Striped Hoodie Sweater
Next with a different style all together, the Elan Striped Hoodie Sweater captures more of a vintage style blended with modern fashion trends like the hoodie and the wide stripes. This sweater features contrasting wide stripes in ash grey and creme. A long tunic length sweater this sweater also looks stunning with boots my favorite are tall suede grey boots for a dressy look or even with Uggs for a more casual look. As for the great details, this sweater has a pin closure in front which is actually a large pin that is covered with matching grey yarn. Of course we have to mention the hoodie which also gives this sweater more of a retro look. In short, this sweater is another great statement sweater for your closet that you won’t find everywhere.
As you can see both of these sweaters are great fashion statement pieces, and best of all they won’t break the bank with reasonable pricing for sweaters both currently on sale for under $75. Finding distinctive sweaters can often be a frustrating task as you can find yourself drowning in a sea of v necks and cardigans. If you’re looking for ways to have winter white fashion looks this season consider a few great pieces in a variety of shades of white and ivory to help create that beautiful winter white look. Of course you will want to make sure and have some great accessories to help give the right amount of contrast to your look.
As a great example of ways to add contrasting colors, consider the Moonlight Cap Sweater by designer Laurie b. Can Thanksgiving really be over?? Winter is upon us ladies and it is time to embrace our cozy and warm sweaters. Celebrity fashion was in full force at the American Music Awards and with all of our holiday parties coming up check out these looks to gain some inspiration for your own events. Check out Mandy Moore’s fabulous sparkled, long sleeve mini. I love a long sleeve dress, so chic and the one is the perfect combination of colors to combat the little black dress blues.

Fergie of course was a bit over the top, but what we can learn is that a little feather goes a long way. I also am in love with the cobalt blue and black color combination.

Oh Whitney Port, always just the perfect amount of trendy and chic. I love the ombre, draped fabric and of course just about everything looks better belted. I think an ombre cardigan belted over a sparkle tank and skinny pants would be a great interpretation of this look for holiday events.

Shockingly, Katy Perry was a little more covered up, the knee length she choose is super flattering on all women. I also loved the texture of her dress. The neutral color with a little sparkle and texture is ultra feminine, perfect for pairing with a leather bomber in my opinion.

For fall and winter fashion, I love having a variety of light weight long sleeve tops in my closet. They are perfect in helping my spring and summer wardrobe transform for cooler weather. Sometimes I even just layer two of my long sleeve shirts with a fur or sweater vest and am out the door. Here are some fabulous options in the light weight long sleeve department. I have to start with the Ganet Long Sleeve Tunic by Velvet by Graham and Spencer. I love the color, such a great blue and the cute buttons on the sleeve make this a stand out all on its own.

With my fall and winter fashion, I love layering. Layering clothes ensures that whether I am outside or in, I can be comfortable, especially for those days that start out cool and turn warm or vice versa. Check out some of my favorite layered looks. I love this Tie Tank by La Befana, with the cute tie neckline and loose fit it looks great with a sweater as shown or a long sleeve shirt under and belted.

Another great piece for layering is the Racerback Flared Tunic Tank Top by Collective Concepts. I would love this with a black long sleeve shirt underneath and leggings tucked into riding boots. This would also look great with a boxy motorcycle type jacket over the top.

If you are in love with the lace trend as much as I am, then please check out the Lace Tank with Pocket by Collective Concepts.
